LÄS MER

Food for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP) are foods intended for the dietary management of individuals who suffer from certain diseases, disorders or medical conditions.

Food business operators must notify FSMP to the Swedish Food Agency in order to place such foods on the market in Sweden. The notification shall be submitted no later than when the food is placed on the market for the first time. See Sections 3 and 4 of LIVSFS 2022:4.

Certain changes to previously notified foods must also be notified to the Swedish Food Agency no later than when the food, with modifications, is placed on the market in Sweden for the first time. However, changes to the labelling of the food that only concern font or colour do not need to be notified. See Section 6 of LIVSFS 2022:4. This e-service may also be used to notify changes to a product that has already been notified.
